I installed this device, formatted the disc, copies data to it and then removed it without problems.
3 hours is really pushing it on the 5690 while 4 Hours is not really pushing the 3760. The 3760 apears to be a good fit.

I have a similiar problem; however, have isolated it to the Hard Drive. I opened "things" up and thre is really nothing that I am willing to do to correct it. Maybe up the memory to 2GB to prevent acces to the swap file might...
You can also get Norton Ghost for less than $70 and create a "true image" to DVD/CD so that everything will be the same "post restore".

When you power the unit on. Immediately depress the FN+F10 to cycle up the fan..... Then do the FN+F10 thing again and you won't be bothered by another "Woosh". The "Woosh" is necessary to insure that the fan starts...
