I installed the Omega 5.9 over my default driver on an M680XL (x700) and it works fine at 1680x1050. Alex

The main difference is in the chassis of the S series. It is suppossed to be magnesium alloy. I'm not sure if the casing is also magnesium alloy or just ABS plastic like the NX850. Alex

I think most people seem to forget that Gateway doesn't actually make these laptops. They simply contract Taiwanese or Chinese companies to make them and badge them. Dell, HP, and Apple do the same. The U.S. companies do have a big hand...

Use the setting controls in the ATI driver (display settings in control panel / settings tab / ATI color ). Alex

Most USB docking stations are junk. All the signals have to go through the USB port. I have two gateway docking stations for my M680XL and they work nicely, but I never tested them out with video port yet. Alex
