ram is easy sometimes its harder in laptops (b/c one stick can be under the keyboard, which can take a couple of pieces of removal before you can get to the ram but most larger laptops - like yours normally there is a bay on the bottom...

i use ccleaner (crap cleaner) and windows registry repair (LINK) both are free neither have ever deleted any entries to make anything not work, the machine not boot, etc i have exported my entire registry before and after scaning...
