The static probably went directly to ground. Most anything that you touch on the outside of the unit will be well grounded and won't be very sensitive. Don't worry about it.
Takes me about 2 seconds to load the all the images. 4Mbit is nice.
My headphone jacks are great! They sound just as clear as the Audigy 2 ZS Gamer on my desktop.
