Well, it does fit and it does run. The question is, will it be reliable? Only time can tell that. I know that it gets very hot playing newer games (Vanguard.), but not really any hotter than the 6800 did.
Well, as goofy as it may seem, replacing one of the DVD drives seems to have fixed the problem. They definitely did not replace the mobo, still v5.5 (dammit!)
My understanding is that they only replaced the primary DVD drive and not the MB. When it comes in tomorrow, I will open it up and double check the MB.

Update: Sager just returned my laptop to Micromedics, repaired (supposedly). According to Sager, the problem was caused by a short in one of the DVD drives which caused the controller to not see the hard drives. I guess it's possible...

I know that rjtech.com sells them and probably Sager as well. Your mobo probably isn't a revision (6.x) that can reliably handle a newer card though.
Typically, the procedure is to call the ext warranty company, not the vendor, if you are out of the factory warranty period.
