It's not that bad, when the forums were popular I liked them better than these forums, that was years ago though. You never had Alienware bashers, and if you did they were "Hammered" out of the system in no time. Also Alienware...
I usually put a towel or something, if I think it will get scratched, and usually I don't have the keyboard pinned agianst the seat like that either, but that picture is about a year old.
