I travel alot and I carry both my work laptop (Dell Latitude D810) and my Dell 1705 so I ended up getting a high end bag with removable handle/wheels from Ebags.com
Anyone know if it's possible to get a 9 cell replacement if I have a 6 cell battery now? I'm willing to pay the difference, anyone ask that yet?
The 1705 also uses DDR2. As long as you use 2 sticks of the same type, you should be fine.
I don't keep mine past about 2 years so it's not worth it to me. It does make it more desirable when it comes time to sell it, but you won't make all that back so unless you plan to keep it for 5 years, I don't recommend it.
I have the Action Pack subscription which allows me to use nearly everything MS offers. I have 5 computers throughout the house and most of the software has 10 licenses so it more than cover me.
It's not just the Army, the Navy uses them too. They're called Common Access Cards and they are the new ID cards that they also use to log on to computers (and other things) with.
In this case the hard drive survived and the user had almost no downtime. Very lucky.
I bought a kensington 120W AC/DC adapter at circuit city. It's quite a bit lighter and is very flat. The only down side is that the AC cord is only about 4" long.

I have the 17" WUXGA TrueLife with the 7900GS on my 1705 and I love it. I run NFS Most Wanted at 1600x1200 and it's awesome. That's the only action game I play, but I can't believe how smooth it is. I'm very glad I got this screen.
