I so want to order one of these badboys. Might have to find a way to scrape together $360 to get one.
I don't understand how you guys can tolerate the 1280x800 resolution. Doom3 doesn't understand widescreen, so all its doing is stretching the image horizontally, making everything look odd. I just run 1024x768 and deal with the...
I'm running Omega CAT 4.7s and don't have any issues with Doom3. Both my laptop, my gamebox, and my friends computer all run this driver and have no problems. (laptop is 9700 mobile, both desktops are 9800 pros) Not sure why everyone...
The MR9800 card HAS to work with the i9100 (even the older versions). The XPS models can get the card as an upgrade, and the i9100 and XPS share the same motherboard. So either Dell is screwing over the XPS owners from getting their...
I run 1024x768 medium on the laptop. high quality works, but I'm betting it will have slow points. The 9800 should do 1024x768 high just fine. Might need 1gb of RAM to be perfectly smooth though.
The i9100 with 9700 mobile will run Doom3 fine. The settings to use will be 1024x768 (or less), medium quality setting, No AA, No AF. Should get around 30-40fps average and max out around 50-60fps. The 9800 mobile card will only add...

I'm starting to hope its an nVidia part. Like a mobile version of the 6800 series. Not likely, but I can hope. ATI has crap linux drivers. Plus nVidia has come back quite a bit.
easy, just use XP/2000 drivers. I have a 2003 Server at home and the XP/2000 drivers work just fine. As for on a laptop, you can't use the ATI Cats anyways since its a MOBILE video card. Omega versions starting with the CAT 4.5...
