i don't think Amex, in my case provides tech support. what Amex will do for me is this, quoted from the Amex webpage and i confirmed this with customer support.

i think u should stick to the original manufacturer's ac adapter, since its made specific for its power configuration. i've been told to stay away from universal ac adapters, they are unreliable. how did u break your ac adapter...
