I have an 8887-v and I am currently able to squeeze close to 2hr's of life out of the battery playing a DVD.

if that's the case, you could allways devise a transformer circuit to boost the wattage.... On a side note i'll check my 12v Direct adaptor that i got with my 8887 when i get home.

I have a S-Video to RCA convertor, but I keep getting black and white output....

Nope, not touching DX9 with a barge pole. ....and Oberhammer, can you kinda lighen up on the matrix mini vids, they arent exactly to kind to us stuck on narowband (IE: 56k)......

Even for a budget PC, don't touch anything under $50 MSI makes a good mobo for around $50

I am considering trying out FreeBSD on my 8887, but I was wondering if it has any issues with it like I have heard of with Mandrake etc. Anyone know anything?

yes IP's are set up and shareing is set up and workgroup names are IDENTICAL. this is completely baffling me...

Tried all of that allready, nothing seems to want to work... I'm nearing the stage of just giving up...
