I'd suggest you get Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. I guarantee you they'll tear up the Altec-Lansing's anyday. The AL's have 100 watts, whereas the Klipsch's have 200 watts, and has much tighter bass.

yeah i've got the 8600, and at times the ram gets to 60c. i can't touch it for more than 2-3 secs and i cant leave it on bareskin while using it as an actual LAP top. Oh well, you get what you pay for. Dell needs to rethink their design...

I guess this thread is your "Jump to Conclusions" mat, because you sure do JUMP to conclusions. Obviouslly since the computer is running slow with the Travelstar in, it MUST be the HD's fault. It couldn't possibly be ANYTHING...
I really prefer the 2200BG card to the Dell 1450. I don't know if Dell has anything comparable, but the Intel PROset software is really great for customizing profiles and stuff.
