Nah!! That never worked either Sakor1. I did a restart as well. Could be/maybe that XP can't find the icon anywhere. May have got corrupted or deleted by accident??

Thank's all for help and suggestions. The icon still refuses to stay put!!! I am going to leave at the moment as lappy is going back to Dell for repairs on Tuesday. Possibly come back with new HDD anyway.

After the couple of long diagnostic tests, I suggested to them what the problem was likely to be. They did initially try to suggest it may be a software problem, and to call thier software number. No way I am doing that as that...
