Has anyone had a problem with the media reader on their m6811?
Mine is not reading CF/SD/or Memory Sticks. All of the other USB ports work fine. If I stick in a cardreader into the USB slot, it works fine that way.
I just ran CPUZ on my M6811. As many of you know, it came stock with 512M of PC2700 Ram which is Single Channel.
Can I replace both the internal and external with Dual Channel ram?
I am going to look to see if they make 1 Gig Dual Channel models because I am not quite sure if they do yet.
Thanks for the info. It is not a huge deal but I like squeezing every ounce of processing power out of my machines. I have 2 new laptops and even an 8550 that my wife uses. Just can't let em go so when they get replace, I am not reluctant to crack the case if I have the extra spare parts hanging around.
I have a similar problem. Hopefully reviving this thread will render some additional support.
I just received my M6811. When I insert media into the SDIO/Memory Stick slot I get a message saying that the device is unrecognized or has malfunctioned.
I have started configuring my 6811 that just got in.
It came with XP home. I have loaded the new XP64 driver (220.127.116.11) but I can't seem to get it to install as 18.104.22.168. It keeps coming up at 22.214.171.124. I even reloaded the video drivers after the upgrade to see if that would make a difference with what I percieved to be a slight slow down.
Now, I did download the Windows updates from Microsoft including SP2. My splash screen now says Windows XP instead of Window XP...

I stand corrected on the Gateway Athlon 64 models but you can't find them on their website! Obviously Gateway is not pushing them. They also come up listed as products sold in Retails stores. Is that ONLY in retail stores?
