Going thru a TV tuner card will usually induce vidoe lag and the Res won't be pretty low as the most you can do is S-Video input. Better to get a Monitor with DVI input and use a HDMI to DVI cable.

I would say the Buffalo. Although more expenisve, it is Gigabit ethernet vs 100BT of the others. It also support more protocols if may it more flexible for you when it comes to outside access.

You're right that Fibre does have much more bandwidth than copper (which tops out at about 6Mbps in close distance). But if you look at there TV lineup, just the HD channels 9 local plus up to 19 premium is going to be close to 600Mbps....
