If your GF wants a AMD processor look for a AMD turon or just get the P-M
My plilosophy is buy what I need even if it is not the best or latest processor available. That way you get what you want and still save some cash if need be. Why buy the X2 if you don't have the need.

Laptop standards isn't really the problem, the problem is the differences in the laptops themselves. For example, the Dell XPS2 could not handle the heat of the Sager 9880 without frying one or all of the componets as Yuriseal pointed...
I would like to see a revised review with the 9880 added but good review and comparison nonetheless.
