I've read articles stating that it's only about 15% of manufactured LCDs that end up with dead or stuck pixels. I've seen and heard enough complaints about them to think the percentage might be higher than that, but who really knows.

Luke, if you were trying to completely baffle me you did a great job! The bottom one is 1920x1200, so no stretching... whaddya mean?! Make a bigger picture?

Sounds to me like a color depth problem, are you sure you're running with 32bit colors?

Mine is supposed to arrive either today, tomorrow or the next day. I'll post pics if my digi cam still works... (I think I might have left it in the car's glovebox for a few nights and it froze up pretty good )
