if you want something that'll just do what you want, get a IBM T21. cheap and does everything you ask for plus it's sturdy. cheap enough so that even if does get lost, it's not going to break your heart for losing $400-$500 equiptment.
Since I got the Battalion, i figure i'll give her a run on the gaming circuit and see how it does. my base game, CS via Steam(ing pile of ****). Ran like a charm on stock drivers and with Omega drivers.... 99 fps with all max settings....
