Make sure you get 2GB of ram and any discrete video card (ATI X1400 or NVidia go6600 or higher). RAM always made the biggest difference to me. 1GB = stutter/lag, 2GB = smooth.
Just curious, but the screen looks like it has 2" top bezel. Is the G1 deeper than a normal 15.4" laptop to accommodate this? And what the heck is it for? 2nd, the G1 looks to be 2" thick in the pictures; is it as thick...
Man, no one ever seems to get it Right. If they combined the W3V elements of modular drive bay, metal chassis, dvi out, and great LCD panel with the go7700 and 1440x900 resolution of the AJ8, you would have the perfect 14" laptop.

This may sound like a dumb question, but is DX10 included with Home Basic Vista? What exactly is left out of the cheapest version of Vista? It is hard to tell with all of the different versions. I use XP Pro today, but am using...
ndiswrapper works like a champ with the old broadcom 802.11g card in my HP ZD7000. Great signal, up all the time. What it does poorly is support encryption. I have not figured that one out yet. Luckily I like in the middle of...
