Is anyone aware of a notebook that will be available in the next couple weeks that is better than the Asus G2S ? Any reason why this wouldn't be a good purchase?

What are peoples experiences with purchasing laptops outside the US for use inside the US?
Is it generally not a good idea? I would imagine it must hard to get support.
Are there customs problems or additional taxes that you must pay?
