correct. If your running windows even on a 64bit amd chip and you install a 64bit compatible program it will only run at 32bit. beacuse of the OS. I cant remb but there is a few unix's (not linux) that can run 64bit but they havent...

64bit means data can travel through the chip 64bits at a time instead of 32bits. leh alein analogy is kinda correct.
