If it's supported in the M1710, it's supported in the E1505 and E1705. They all use the same chipset. (945GM or 945 PM).

I have the T2400 (1.83 GHz) and it does a wonderful job. It beats the crap out of my old P4 HT 3.2. And by comparing speed results i'd say it's equal to a p4 3.8 GHz.

I'd go with the core duo and the x1400 if you want to do some gaming.

It's not the ati 9000 but the 128 MB ati 9600 PRO. It's a pretty outdated card nowadays, dont know if it would be a good enough upgrade.

x1300 is the x300 succesor. The x1400 is better than the x600.

Yeah but the Native of the M170 is probably 1900 x 1200 while the Native of the M140 is probably 1280 x 800. Gotta take that into account

yep thats crap, i get 2142 on my "low-end" x1400

try ebay, altough expect it to be quite expensive (300 or 400 dollars, maybe more)

I'd definitely go for that 1 GB of ram..
