I just downloaded the driver off the XPS page and i dont think it did anything for me. I have a E1505 and i didnt get any updated volume controls or nothing. Any ideas?

I have the TSST one and it works perfectly. Maybe you just got a faulty one. BTW TSST = Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology, or something like that so it can't be that bad.

Yes it only uses a heatsink, but that heatsink goes to the fan too. So the fan cools down the CPU and the GPU

Wow...there's no way you're running Doom 3 at stock speeds at 1680 x 1050 on high settings. Mainly because there is no option for it on Doom and the x1400 isn't powerful enough. Check the Doom settings. It chooses your resolution by...
