The m5500-R3 means the m5550, I think. If MB's Bios for the m5500 doesn't work on your R3, then I'll upload mines.

awesome. That's good news. I'm also considering an external Smartbay HD.

Maybe it's a bad hard drive...if reformatting 3 times didn't help.
