This really sux, installed the new drivers and still get what looks like static when I run an opengl app or game. Don't run opengl and everything runs fine. Driver issues at it's best.
Got a quick Q on this, I have the Sager 8790 with the mobility 9700 I get it all to run but I get corruption in the video as soon as I run an opengl app. Anyone else run into this?
I have mine on the 8790 with gentoo working. It can be done.

This can be just as bad as overclocking your CPU. Certain processes require specific voltages in order to function correctly especially on a Deskptop CPU, more than a Centrino or mobile cpu. You can drop your bus speed, but that also can...
Then I would go with a supplier issue of the power supply.
I would say no since the only driver I have found to be reliable in all it's stages of usage is the Promise driver. Microsoft tries to load it's generic driver for the promise and it causes it to lock up and cause BSOD's. Your only hope...

Sometimes you got to wonder when if it's just the individuals luck or lack there of. Sardo Numsei (with that name you don't have to explain), G-Omaha is right you have to explain it. 2 problems in a year out of the thousands of machines...
That is Usually a ram issue when it's random. It could also be a CPU that is overheating and throwing random errors. I would change ram out first. If that don't fix it then RMA it.
