The glossiness is only a major factor if you're working outside in broad daylight. Even then, you won't notice it unless you're at an odd angle, or looking for it. I haven't had much time to use it outside, so I'm not really sure....

yes, I had a lot of paranoid moments with dust. Like on a white background there would be this rainbow-ey pixel and I was like "NO!" then realized it was dust :P

you might consider getting a sleeve to protect your laptop and putting it in your existing backpack. That way its less obvious and steal-able :P Plus you don't have to carry another bag/whatever besides your backpack.

you may want to consider 2 80gig HD's in a raid0 as opposed to one 160gig. it'll give you a bit of a speed boost. Not sure how the costs work out though
