What do you think. I think it could be a reasonably cool and quite system. Not sure if everything works, but it should have excellent airflow (that's a big plus for me). And if its too noisey I can replace the fans with zalmans, I think.

This is for my senior thesis. So its for school, but its not really a hobby. I don't think I need more than 4 gigs, however I was thinking just to start off with 2 gigs and eventually add more when I get to the heavy rendering later on....

How's the heat on this at full load and at idle temps?

RAM is always good, but the most important thing for rendering is cpu power (I might splurge for the 316 dollar core 2 duo with the 4 mb ). I also like these Lian Li cases, very classly looking, and they seem to cool well, and quietly....

It seems like if you want a quadro you have to spend 500 for a decent card.

Wouldn't a bottom mounted PSU help with overall ventillation? One complaint about the stacker is that its limited space wise interiorly.
