i think the higher resolutionn screen of the toshiba would make it the one to get. 4.5 pounds is still pretty light and with only a 12" screen the higher resolution will make things free less crammed. But thats just my opinion if...

i really don't know, but i think the brightness setting on your screen will effect it much more. For example the mitac 8050 and the CL56 have very similar components yet the cl56 with a higher resolution screen gets better battery life....
