I'm having the same problem, the local computer guy says its the motherboard problem, and that I should get a new laptop. Sucks.. I just added a 1gig stick of ram a month ago

So what is that chip? Would matter that I get this part myself and try to put it in myself? Or just send it into HP to repair it? Or a local guy? I have the same power problem on my l2000, thanks for the help so far!

How similiar are the different L2000s? I think I have the same problem, how much can that new part cost a person?
