No computer is future-proof, and no matter what you get it will be outdated in a year. Personally, I don't care much about SR. I think the current chipset in the m9750 will have more than enough muscle for my needs and I'll rarely not...

Putting a notebook and compact-desktop head-to-head is a joke in my opinion. You mean a full-on 8800Gtx is faster than a notebook with dual 7950's? What a revelation... Still, the pictures were enough to make my day. Thanks for the link.

If you really dig the 19" screen and want the mALX then at least hold off for a little while. If a new mALX is in the works AW might start offering deep discounts in order to clear stock of the current model.
