Ok, so I did find a new version of my BIOS (F.54). Flashed it, but does not change my situation.

I've been trying for about 10 hours straight to upgrade from QuickPlay Direct 1.x to 3.2. I am on WinXP on an HP Pavilion dv8120. Following the info in this thread, I have gotten as far as installing the partition. My system even boots...
