Dell Latitude D630/D830 should do the trick.
I'll second the 9 cell battery suggestion - the 1720 is already quite heavy, you won't notice much of a difference in weight if you go with a smaller battery.

Downgrade the RAM and hard drive to the lowest they offer and get it elsewhere - you'll save a whole lot of money. You can get two gigs of RAM for around $50 nowadays, 250 gig 5400RPM hard drives can be had for well under $200.
I'd go with a used D820 (or better yet, refurb from dell outlet) - it's built like a tank.
