Hum.... It ran fine on mine! I just unistalled all of the old drivers. There is a tool on ATI's website to remove all ATI related drivers and software. Try it, reboot, run a registry cleaner, reboot and install the Fire GL...

I had the same problem on mine (4780) and I only had to update the GPU drivers to the latest Catalyst. It has been working perfectly since then... Hope it helps
Yes, It would make the batteries last longer, as well as making the laptop a bit cooler. All that heat can´t be good for the system.... Or for me.... Anyway, if I find anything I´ll let you guys know. Thanks
