The machine I am building is being built out of parts bought from around the world. The bios is a mesh bios. I have tried to switch the start screen on but this just displays the Intel logo. So I switched it off again.
I have now managed to power my M7700 build and I have come across a curios problem when trying to load windows XP for the first time.
(I am aware of loading the Raid when Windows asks to load a 3rd party raid driver) But I haven't got that far yet.
My problem appears to be with the bios. Sometimes it sees the CD drive and somtimes it doesn't
Sometimes it displays the clock and sometimes it doesn't
Has anyone out there come across the same problem?
Just got my Laptop powered to find the screen has a frazzled back light and it looks like the LCD is cracked in the corner. on the bright side it powererd up though! At least it went through the motions
Anyone out there got a LP171W01 or LP171W02 Same screen but the 02 means glossy.

Hi Corvette C6.R FTW
Thankyou your a star. To access the inverter board you will need to remove the face bezel of the screen. This is achieved by first removing the small rubber pads that cover the screws. Next remove the screws from the face plate, Here comes the tricky bit... To seperate the front bezel from the back cover you will need to insert (I use) the edge of a credit card(because it is made of plastic and it won't damage the the laptop) try not to use a screw...
Thanks for that. I have a spare laptop on the way D900T Mesh with a Mobility X800 card.
I was hoping to get some detailed pictures of the inverter which would allow me to find a suitable place to attach the alien eyes LED to my standard inverter. I have found a 3.5V supply on the inverter but haven't checked the voltage of the LED's
