The dell USB ports don't have enough amps to power the HD enclosure. As the manual says you can use both usb ports together to supply enough power without using an external power supply.

it's the HD, aida doesn't list the physical info for some reason with this HD. It does for others though.

Would any standard 2.5" HD work in the i600m? (like the Hitachi 7k60?) The hitachi site had the 7k and the e7k. Can't tell what the difference is. but the one at 40 GB might be cheaper. http://www.hitachigst.com Travelstar...
