thanks Guys, I guess I complained enough and they have agreed to provide the i5-430M (it has the turbo). I'm assuming it has to be noticably better than both the P8600 and I3-350M? Right.

what does that mean "hmmm" is the i3-350M not much better than the core 2 p8600. The dell guy said that it is much better in every respect, especially that it has 4 threads. First he tried to tell me it is a quad core.

I had a Studio Notebook 1555 and it had major freezing problems. Dell has offered to exchange it. I'm hoping you guys can comment on the following changes and if much better than the former Is the i3-350M processor much better and...

Thanks for all the valuable input. I can get another 4GB for $180 more, is that worth it or am I good with the one free 4GB and 2GB. Is the additional 4GB going to add a ton. I'm not a big gamer either.

Thanks for your input, when I run in safe mode, there is no volume enabled. Is that normal, can't get sound at all.

How about these other processors, they are other processors offerred in the inspiron 15; are they much better than the Core2 SU9400 or not. Again, I don't care about battery life. Core 2 P7450 Core 2 T6600
