Well I'd definately first check to see if you still got a warranty on that thing. It suprises me how many times I thought I had no warranty when I actually did. Otherwise, I'd just grab a 7900gs off ebay or check the b/s/t forums here....
Yeah that thing'll last a while haha. It wont be much for gaming, but definately enough for any multimedia applications - blu ray, hddvd, media center, etc.
It is a bit more expensive than competitor machines, but if you don't mind...
For most intents and purposes I usually recommend Dell just because their tech support is the best. Nothing really comes close to having next day onsite service. It really is worth the premium as I could think of so many times it's saved...
Isn't it more reasonable just to get a M17xx than to do such a complicated warranty destroying conversion? o.O
IMO I'd rather just sell the E1705 and buy the M17xx. Less hassle, and you actually get the real thing :P
Well, the last couple times I either got it off the buy sell forums here or through ebay. I'd say both are pretty reliable as long as you make sure the guy has good rep or a lotta good feedback.
I've got a 7600g and it's pretty fast. I'd definately say it'd be an improvement over your T2600, but I'd say it'd be a marginal difference maybe around 20%-30% depending on overclock
Sooooo whats wrong with the computer? The bulge in the case? Seems like they offered to replace the part so I don't understand why you're so pissed o.O
