Meh..... I've been waiting 6 weeks now for mine..... (Baghdad, Iraq.. I made the mistake of going with "Registered Mail" with USPS. If I'd just ponied up the extra cash with FedEx, I'd have been playing it 5 weeks ago... )
Mobo issues are wildly different between laptops and desktops. I've been in IT for about 14 years, and have very very rarely encountered a problem with a motherboard going bad in a desktop. Usually, the machine becomes obsolete way before the motherboard goes bad.
With laptops OTOH, they just seem to have a exponentially greater amount of problems with the motherboards. This is probably due to the trend to jam more processing power into laptops, which brings higher and...
Thanks for being positive towards the end of your post. I talked to the local postmaster today, and he said that Priority Mail takes longer to go through the system because it has to be signed for by every mail clerk that lays their hands on it. He was sympathetic, and assured me that the accountability procedures basically ensure that it will not get lost in transit, without some mailclerk being responsible for it. He told me if I have the tracking numbers, that...
I just have to wonder how long this laptop worked with the new memory before it failed. Did you game for a year before it failed?
I see this as a matter of trying to save $100-$150 by getting the RAM cheaper and then paying the price in reduced performance. There are some things (like hard drives) that you can get away with upgrading with generally no ill effect, but memory is a very critical part of a high end system.
To me, I would rather buy the lowest amount of...
First thing I would try is removing first one memory stick, then the other.
Then, remove one GPU, then the other.. Sounds like either a memory or graphics card problem.
How does the CPU utilization look? Is it maxing out when you are having these issues?
Make sure you call AW tech support when you open up your lappie, to keep your warranty strizzait.
Russ (Pissed off because my lappie was shipped 6 weeks ago and it's not here yet) Chewning
Oh yeah.. Forgot to mention.. USPS should be able to track every $3500 package that goes through its' system, regardless of whether that info is available to the recipient/sender. If they cannot locate it in their own system, then by MY judgement, it's ALREADY lost, and AW should be acting in my behalf to get insurance claims filed.
No doubt... If AW would go ahead and just file the claim at 45 days, I would not have a problem with that... That's only a few days away..But AW is saying they will not fille the claim at 45 days.. And that's the thing I have a problem with... They are saying that I will have to wait a further2-3 weeks before they will even INVESTIGATE IT.
Their shipping person goes to drop off computers at the USPS center probably 2 times per week. All I ask if for that person to check...
Let me preface this by saying that I ordered my m9750 from Baghdad, Iraq, and it was shipped USPS Priority Mail on September 20th. USPS mail being sent to my area has been taking about 6-10 days, order to door. Mail has been moving EXTREMELY fast!
Now, Priority Mail is not directly trackable, but there is a tracking website that will bring up some information on PM packages.
Only one of my two AW packages shows up at all. And that one says it was dropped off with the...
Is the OP just trolling?
He does realize that SLI is an Nvidia solution for connecting TWO video cards, right?
Asking how one gets SLI to work with a single video card shows a total lack of understanding of the SLI concept.
