Spoke to Sony support today. They said that the problems is being caused by a faulty touchpad that needs to be replaced. (hardware) The guy i spoke with seemed real familiar with the problem and said it was some kind of engineering...

I called sony tech support last week - they were completely unaware of the problem. they suggested i do a recovery back a few weeks when it was working correctly. But it looks like Ericw1165 already has done so, and still did not...
