Before you buy you should realize that the i9100 is a HUGE laptop with sub par battery life, I'd go with the eMachines. I had one before my current laptop then returned it. It was good, I just dont like widescreen.

The 1557g i wouldnt say is "flimsy". As long as you arent picking up the laptop while its open by the screen and start swinging it around, it should be fine. I think that you deffinatly want to go with a 128mb 9700.
