Looking at that now it appears the drive is in some sort of caddy/adaptor (?) I guess from that it isnt just a case of taking out one screw and sliding but i somehow need to get the entire PC apart and gain access to the main board?

Took all the screws around it out but still couldnt get the drive to slide out, no movement at all in it and obviously dont want to force it.

Dont think its a firmware issue - it used to read the exact same discs and just stopped. Also its several different dyes. Edit:- Have updated to latest PX49 firmware for drive but problem still remains - disks that work on other PCs...
