Quad Cores from Intel are coming down in price, I think mostly due to AMDs new Phenom Chip. They're apparently cutting prices to match...I think they're scared of AMDs high preformance yet cheap new cpu stealin' intel's thunder.
That's still impressive that it worked. Which forum was that? And well, All the support seems to be there. I'm not suggesting someone plundge headlong into flashing it (you'd need some kind of third party app anyways, plus the only thing I've found to actually save a m1710 bios is the IDA Pro dissassembler, which I haven't tried yet. I'm simply suggesting that it is VERY possible because the motherboard at least from what I've seen is identical.
I'm 99.9% sure. The fact is though, some of the motherboards (the one I saw had them) simply don't have the "plug-ins" for everything, but the places where they are supposed to be soldered onto the board, the docking port, and some pins for the touchpad are missing. However, it's simply missing the plugins, the places for them still exist. The one I saw HAD the plugins, however it may be different on other systems. I do very much so believe the systems could run an...

I know this thread is old, but for anyone searching throughout it, I have confirmed that the above is bs. The motherboard that the E1705 and M1710 use are in every way except their bioses, IDENTICAL.
I've seen both with my own eyes,...

don't as5 the crap out of anything, it only takes a very small amount and if you use too much it will increase your temperatures. you cant use a glob to take up space or use as5 directly on anything other that where the cpu/gpu meet the heat sink.
the best cooling is actually taking your computer once a month and using a vacuum and caned air clean...
Since we're all doing this :P
Here's my max (stable with my new setup...barely.)
And my lowest :P (I've gotten it to 76mhz core, but it scitzed out and rebooted all the time)
With my setup Core temp is usually 38C in a 19C environment
And yes...my drivers will be updated one day.
