Let me clarify: external monitors are fine:both S-Video and VGA output displays are perfect. Only laptop screen has the issues:black on boot,and white with colored vertical lines on laptop screen with an external monitor plugged-in.

Go to emachine website, and if you know the Gateway/Emachine equivilent use the Emachine sound driver for your MB. As long as sound cards are the same,driver will work. The 7000 series Gateway are the same as the Emachine M6800...

No, but found a tech manual on CD ,that I hope will help , on Ebay. Same as Emachine.

Took all the screws off the back of laptop without noting color/size and location. Can anyone help as I cannot find a tech manual that shows correct order.
