Hey, i've read some stuff on the forums saying you can use firmware to make the dvd burner also do dvd-r's. is this true? my dvd player only plays DVD-R's so that would be great if I could.

RedHerring, So you just ran that zip and your dell dvd burner was able to burn DVD-R's? was that the 8x DVD burner?
