I have a similar situation. I have an old pavilion desktop which recommends PC100 SDRAM. but i found out that PC133 is much cheaper. but donno if I can take that chance as the system is an old one and we are dealing with SDRAM.

No you dont have to remove anything. normally the battery will be charged once you plug in, Unless your battery is already charged. Mine has a green LED blinking when its charging and solid green LED when its fully charged.
