It opened my eyes about having fun on a console, even on a 32" CRT widescreen TV the graphics look great. I'll move up to a 1080p LCD in the future of course.

Update, bought the Wife a PS3 2 days ago, once she is finished 'testing' it, I'll wrap it for Christmas. Got the Uncharted, Drake's Quest or whatever it's called and she loves it. I just don't see this testing finishing anytime soon.

Try reinstalling the mouse. Erasing sentences is unlikely to be a driver issue, more an application setting or you may have accidentaly hit a key that toggles overtype and insert mode.

A CF drive should be considerably faster than a HDD but if it's going through an IDE adapter then there is probably next to no difference as the controller will arbitrate the speed on the channel.
