Ah, you guys are right. But if you find a machine that doesn't use the updated 855, then it won't have 333MHz support. I suppose then it wouldn't be advertised as "Dothan compatible" though. ?
It's not just the L2 cache; systems made for Banias only have a 266MHz memory bus. The 855 memory controller was updated for Dothan to support 333MHz. So you'll see a big difference if you upgrade the way HiOctane suggests.
Well, I thought about waiting for the WSXGA to be released here, but I couldn't stand using my slow VAIO any more, so I ordered an M6Ne. Looking forward to being able to do reasonable work wirelessly. My VAIO's battery is down to 40...
