if there is no acer tool than try either speedswitchXP or rmclock (which I would suggest, you can also lower the voltage a bit so you get a cooler laptop and the battery lasts a bit longer)

you can configure a region of the touchpad which is used for scrolling (both, vertical and horizontal). you can set the size of this region as you like it

IBM T4x start here at around 2000€ (with acceptable specs) And here in Austria you have to pay 20% tax, so in Germany you can get it for around €1450..which is not that much. At the moment I'm still very satisfied with the joybook
