Anyone just reformat their DELL without reloading all the bloatware? Can a guy just load XP Pro and the basic drivers and gain any performance?

Just got a M1710 with a 7950 card and want to upgrade the video drivers from the ones that came out of the box, but the installer from the nvidia site keeps saying they are not intended for my machine and to go to DELL for the drivers....

I have a M7010 I`ve had for a week or so and I get rhythmetic type sound pulsations during games sometimes. It`s all stock with box drivers. If it were the speakers at fault, you would expect the sound to be bad all the time, not just...
