Yeah, I agree. However, I don't trust the old hard drive anymore: I feel it may have taken permanent damage by now.

RAM. You'll get immediate improvement because memory is the first bottleneck with your multitasking.

I spent an afternoon researching the laptop coolers, even posted about it on this forum. It didn't seem like any of them cooled the laptop down more than a few degrees, depending on the spot. Didn't seem to help the HD temp much at all,...
I've got the N and M keys wearing off too. Which I found funny, because they're not keys that I use *that* much and don't rest my hands on top of them, or anything. I guess this explains it.
Mine idles at ~45C, and has reached as high as 65C during gaming sessions. I react when it gets higher than 55C, though, thankfully it's been staying at that lately. I was worried as well, but figure that since it's the default hard...
