more ram is 90% of the time better than faster RAM, except for extreme cases. You could have 1 billion gigahertz RAM, but it doesnt mean a thing if you have to dip into the page file.

Just get the high-res screen. You can always lower the resolution if it's too small, and the WUXGA pixel pitch will minimize blur.
